BY RESERVATION ONLY
- If you are not on our mailing list, please request an invitation via our website contact form. (Please note that we will close registration 24 hours before each Erev service to allow our volunteers time to prepare themselves and their families for the holiday.)
- Shalom Rav does not require membership to attend services, but we do request donations.
- Members and friends will be receiving invitations via email by August 27, 2024.
- If you do not receive the invitation in a timely manner, please email Susan: shalomravcommunications@gmail.com (kindly check your spam folder first!).
- If you prefer to write a check, please use the Shucloud form to RSVP and send your check to: Congregation Shalom Rav, ATTN: High Holidays, PO Box 28308-8308, Austin, TX 78755.
- The suggested (non-member) donation for services is $126 (7 x chai (18)) per adult for Rosh Hashanah and $126 for Yom Kippur (a total of $252- for both sets of services). Dependents need not donate.
- There is no minimum required donation for non-members; but we respectfully request at least a donation of $48- (triple chai) per set of services.
- If you have the ability to donate above the suggested amount we will be most grateful – this helps us to keep services affordable for the entire community and supports CSR throughout the year! (Please let us know if you require a receipt for tax purposes.)
Oneg, Fasting, and Break-the Fast:
- The Oneg after the Erev Rosh Hashana service is sponsored by the congregation – we have the traditional apples and honey with challah and wine/grape juice. You are most welcome to bring food or drink to add to the celebration.
- We acknowledge that many people cannot – or should not – fast for 25 hours during Yom Kippur. Challah and grape juice, along with fruit and light snacks will be available throughout Yom Kippur day so that you can break your fast when needed.
- Our Break-the-Fast after Yom Kippur is a communal pot-luck celebration. If you RSVP for Yom Kippur we will send you a message inviting you to contribute to the meal.
