Mount Bonnell, Austin TX

Our long-standing congregational tradition is to carry our Torah scroll up Mount Bonnell (the highest point in Austin) on Shavuot morning.

• We meet at 7 am in the parking lot near the base of the stairs

• We climb the stairs slowly while reading the Psalms of Ascents
• We take turns carefully passing the Torah scroll among participants as we climb the stairs, pausing as needed
• Bagels, coffee, and blintzes at the top as well as the best view in Austin.
• Be on our way home by 8am at the latest
